The social response of the two Autonomous Residences has, each, the capacity to receive 5 users and prioritizes situations of dysfunctional family environments, situations of social and/or economic deprivation, aging of caregivers and other direct family members, situations of great dependency, abandonment by family members/caregivers or their absence, precarious social housing situations, always promoting solidarity and equality of citizens. It is intended, therefore, to promote family interaction of citizens with disabilities, through the integration and socialization of clients in the community through art education, the development of motor skills, supported employment

and inclusion in professionalizing environments, always privileging transversality as an integration strategy:

  • Establish internship protocols with some entities;
  • Social Inclusion;
  • Laundry and drying;
  • Personal hygiene;
  • Food;
  • Clean the residence;
  • Making the beds, etc, always being guided and supported by a technical team.

 By living in the residences, we can see how happy the users are to have a home of their own.

Each residence comprises a kitchen, a living room, 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 single), 2 bathrooms, and a storage/engine room.

The parking area in front of the building is intended for handicapped people, and the parking spaces for employees, loading and unloading, are in the west parking lot, next to the service door next to the laundry/clothing treatment.

The autonomous residences have been in operation since August, and the report from the users is very pleasant:

They say they are at home and would not trade this space for the world;

They enjoy being with each other, even though they have their differences, but then they manage to become friends again;

They like to be in the residences because they also get a visit from their boyfriends one day a week;

They like the food cooked by the cook;

They like to tidy the house, make the bed, leave everything clean.
